What You Need to Know About the MISSION Act

Earlier this month, the MISSION Act became effective after being signed into law last year. The legislation expands medical provider options for individuals receiving medical care from the Veterans Administration. The goal of this legislation is to provide veterans with the care they earned while giving everything in defense of freedom.

To receive care under the MISSION Act, veterans must already be enrolled for care through the VA and must receive approval from VA prior to obtaining care from a community provider in most circumstances.

Once approved, the VA will schedule appointments for care within its provider network. The VA handles the billing leaving veterans to focus on the road to recovery and wellness.
