Area Congressman introduces bill to give lawmakers time to read proposals before voteWSET

ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) - Congressman Ben Cline introduced a bipartisan bill aimed to make sure legislators don't vote on something they have not read. The bill is called the 48-Bill Review Resolution. Currently, Cline said lawmakers have 72 hours to review a proposal. but Cline says there are many loopholes, like Covid 19, that let lawmakers force them to vote early. Cline said his bill would make it so that no matter what lawmakers have 48 hours to review a bill. |
