Delivering Transparency on the Epstein Files
Last week, I was proud to vote in favor of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was signed into law shortly after. This legislation requires the production and release of all documents related to Epstein investigations and prosecutions, including flight logs and travel records, records of government officials connected to Epstein, records of entities with ties to Epstein, and all related communications. The House will continue working to secure justice for the victims of these unspeakable crimes while ensuring government accountability and transparency for the American people.

Stopping Foreign Influence in U.S. Courts Clears Key Committee
Foreign influence from our adversaries, especially the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), is becoming a serious threat to the integrity of our legal system. Foreign litigation funding has grown into a multibillion dollar industry that allows hostile nations to gain a quiet foothold in our courts and shape legal outcomes to advance their own interests. This type of interference has no place in the United States and it undermines the trust Americans place in our judicial system. That is why I introduced the Protecting Our Courts from Foreign Manipulation Act, which recently passed out of the House Judiciary Committee. If signed into law, this bill would strengthen our ability to guard against foreign entities that seek to manipulate legal and regulatory processes in our country. As I stated during the committee markup, foreign adversaries like the CCP have no business secretly influencing America’s courts. The need to safeguard the integrity of our judicial system and ensure that the decisions made in U.S. courtrooms are driven by justice, not by hidden foreign interests.
The legislation requires full disclosure from any foreign individual or entity involved in civil litigation funding. It prevents foreign governments and sovereign wealth funds from taking part in litigation finance either directly or indirectly and also directs the Department of Justice’s National Security Division to report on the scope of foreign involvement in third party litigation funding throughout the federal judiciary. These reforms are an important step in protecting our courts from manipulation by the CCP and other adversaries. I’m glad that this common sense legislation passed out of committee and is one step closer to consideration on the House Floor.

Rejecting the Failed Promise of Socialism
The ideology of socialism has taken hold of many major cities across America and become increasingly mainstream among young people. History makes one thing clear: wherever socialism takes root, it leaves a long trail of destruction through economic depression, political oppression, and a steady erosion of personal freedom. Countless families have fled nations like Cuba to escape these failed policies and pursued the American Dream built on liberty and free markets.
Last week, I was proud to vote for a resolution disapproving of socialism. I was proud to stand firmly against an ideology that threatens our prosperity and way of life. The American people deserve to know exactly where their elected officials stand, especially as these ideas try to move from the fringe into the mainstream. That’s why I will continue to defend the principles that have made our nation strong. America’s strength has never come from more government control; it has come from hard-working citizens. We cannot afford to repeat the mistakes of countries that embraced socialism and paid the price for it. In Congress, I’ll keep standing up for the freedoms that make America exceptional.

Opposing Efforts to Undermine American Energy
House Republicans continue to stand up for the American people by rolling back harmful regulations that raise energy costs, threaten American jobs, and weaken our nation’s economic security. This Congress, we have already disapproved of 20 rules and last week we added three more to that list by eliminating more regulations that directly impacted hardworking families. I disapproved of these rules because they burdened consumers, restricted access to affordable energy, and jeopardized thousands of jobs in communities across the country.
These issues are especially important to rural America, where families rely on stable energy production and the jobs it supports. These regulations threatened local communities and put affordable, reliable energy at risk for millions of Americans. Republicans remain committed to protecting American jobs, lowering energy costs, and restoring America’s energy independence. We will continue fighting to reverse heavy-handed regulations that harm working families and rural communities, and we will ensure that America remains strong, secure, and energy independent for generations to come.

Casework Highlight: Helping a Local Senior Navigate Medicare
A constituent from Roanoke recently reached out to my district office for help enrolling in Medicare. She had tried to navigate the process on her own but kept running into roadblocks. With her 65th birthday just behind her, she was understandably worried about losing her personal health insurance and simultaneously being unable to register for Medicare due to a technical error. My staff submitted a request to the Social Security Administration on October 20, 2025, and just two days later, we received a favorable response resulting in this constituent being enrolled in Medicare.
Even in the midst of the government shutdown, the Social Security Administration prioritized her case, allowing successful enrollment in Medicare without experiencing a lapse in coverage. I’m glad my staff was able to help advocate for our seniors and ensure they get the support they need, especially during transitions. If you or someone you know ever needs assistance with a federal agency, please don’t hesitate to contact the district office closest to you. We are always here to help!

Out and About In Washington

It was great running into Senator Mullin at the Republican Study Committee lunch to discuss how House and Senate Republicans are working together to root out waste, fraud, and abuse within the federal government.

I had a great time meeting with a bright group of students from James River High School in Botetourt County to answer their questions about the history of Congress before their Capitol tour last week.

It was great to meet with members of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America from across the Sixth District. The Shenandoah Valley is fortunate to have some outstanding career and technical education programs, and I am proud to support these ongoing efforts.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Congressman. If my office can ever be of assistance, please contact my Washington office at (202) 225-5431.
