Rep. Ben Cline responds to protests

Over the last few months, several protests have been held outside the Roanoke office of Virginia 6th District U.S. Representative Ben Cline. Protesters have been calling on Cline to hold townhalls and address constituents, and protest organizers said they have not been able to meet with Cline. The primary concern of protesters has been Cline’s support for the Trump administration amid cuts to federal funding and the federal workforce.

WDBJ7 sat down with Cline Thursday to get his response to the protests. Cline said his office is accessible, and he is happy to sit down and meet with concerned constituents.
We feel like we’re getting a lot accomplished through these individual meetings right now because folks’ questions are so specific. Folks are concerned. They’re scared about their jobs as federal employees. They’re scared about their benefits. So for me to be able to answer those questions, take down their information, and get them a specific response, these meetings are proving to be very helpful,” said Rep. Cline, a Republican who represents the 6th District.

Cline said he wants to hear from all his constituents, not just those who voted for him.
