Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Ben Cline (R-VA) released the following statement regarding President Joe Biden dropping out of the presidential race. “The undeniable truth is that Joe Biden’s mental incapacity forced him out of the race, rendering him unfit for the presidency,” Rep. Ben Cline said. “If Biden can’t handle running a campaign, he can’t handle holding the highest office. Biden’s alarming cognitive decline not only jeopardizes our national security but is also a threat to every American.” Congressman Cline stressed the importance of why Biden needs to step down from his position, “We need a leader who can handle critical decisions around the clock, every day of the year. It's time for Biden to step aside voluntarily, or his Cabinet must take action under the 25th Amendment for the good of our nation. He needs to prioritize our national security and the welfare of all Americans over his tenure of power.” Furthermore, Congressman Cline addressed how the Democrats forced Biden out of the race 106 days before the election, “Over the years, Democrats and their media allies have shamelessly dismissed valid concerns about the President's mental capacity as conspiracy theories. Every individual involved in this cover-up, particularly Vice President Harris, must be held accountable for their actions.” In closing, Congressman Cline discussed why Kamala Harris would be just as much of a disaster in the White House as Joe Biden, “Over the last three and a half years, the string of failed policies goes beyond Biden alone; it encompasses the entire Biden/Harris Administration. Harris is set to perpetuate their extreme leftist agenda, responsible for the drastic inflation, the dire southern border crisis, and the profound harm inflicted on every American family. The American people are sick of this extreme agenda that this Administration is pushing, and they deserve better.” Congressman Ben Cline represents the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia. He previously was an attorney in private practice and served both as an assistant prosecutor and as a Member of the Virginia House of Delegates. Cline and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Botetourt County with their two children. ### |
