Rep. Cline Statement on House Effort to Impeach President Trump
Washington, DC, January 12, 2021
Congressman Ben Cline (VA-06) released the below statement amid efforts by House Democrats to impeach President Trump.
"Attempts to impeach the President in his final 8 days in office will only further fuel the political divide among our citizens and will be detrimental to long-term efforts to unify our country. Both President Trump and President-Elect Biden have called for a peaceful transition of power, so I would urge Speaker Pelosi to reconsider pursuing Articles of Impeachment. Now is a time to get back to work addressing the issues most important to the American people," Cline said.
Congressman Ben Cline represents the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia. He previously was an attorney in private practice and served both as an assistant prosecutor and Member of the Virginia House of Delegates. Cline and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Botetourt County with their two children.
